Flashback Friday: On this day last year we were dr Flashback Friday: On this day last year we were driving across the desert and figured if we weren’t quite in the middle of nowhere, we could definitely see it from here. So we pulled up for a photo and a few quick golf shots.
Doesn’t matter where you are, when you’re with these two, you’re always having a great time!

Throwback Thursday: This day last year was possibl Throwback Thursday: This day last year was possibly my favourite on the rally. We did some incredible (wet!) private tracks before lunch. Then spent the afternoon taking turns guiding Kenny up Big Red. Sipping wine as we watched the sunset over the desert and slept under the most incredible stars I've even seen.
Such an incredible day!

Wayback Wednesday: After a long morning in Betoota Wayback Wednesday: After a long morning in Betoota then a minor mechanical hiccup enroute, Kenny’s Angels were thrilled (and a bit relieved, just quietly) to make it to Birdsville!

Flashback to this day last year, where we got this Flashback to this day last year, where we got this 🫰 close to Haddon Corner.
A storm came through and dumped a year's worth of rain in a day, so we pinned our ears back and beelined straight for the Betoota Hotel. If you're going to get stuck in the outback, Betoota is the certainly the place to do it! 🍻

Day 7 of the Beach to Bush run took us from Bivoua Day 7 of the Beach to Bush run took us from Bivouac Station to Woodleigh Station dressed as pirates. We were lucky enough to be granted access to some spectacular private stations and encountered some more cattle grid bridges (which will never not be cool to us). Kenny was on the receiving end of a smoke bomb from the Dirty Doctors. The good folks from Mt Fox State School (population six students) fed us a beautiful lunch and Amanda befriended, Heidi the only kindy kid in the area. Possibly my favourite afternoon of driving - the landscape seemed to change around every corner - red dirt to white dirt, muddy crossings to sandy creeks and beautiful lagoons to admire on the way. When we arrived at Woodleigh, we quickly set up our swags, then headed back to sip champagne and soak off the dust in a little creek. If you ask us, these little moments are what the rally is all about!
Day 6 of the Beach to Bush Run saw the remaining A Day 6 of the Beach to Bush Run saw the remaining Angels don loud shirts and head off from Airlie Beach to Bivouac Station. It was our biggest day of driving (560km+). We stopped off quickly for Kenny to meet his namesake the Big Mango (who is named Kenny for his variety Kensington Pride). Highlights were calling into the Bowen River Hotel to wet our whistles and finding a sumo wrestler tackling a T-rex outside of Mount Wyatt.

Day 5 of the Beach to Bush Run was our lay day in Day 5 of the Beach to Bush Run was our lay day in Airlie Beach.
We were sad to bid farewell to Sonia who flew home from Proserpine to prepare for the arrival of her grandson.
Susie and I found our way to the pub and discovered the cure for our doldrums at the Airlie Beach Hotel. What a pub! We'll be back (as a complete complement next time)!!!!
